meteclasses 2.x/3.x compatibility

Untested:

if sys.version >= "3":
    kw = {'metaclass': MyMetaClass}
else:
    kw = {}

class Foo(object, **kw):
    if sys.version < "3":
        __metaclass__ = MyMetaClass


Inelegant as it gets, but it should work.
