For most open-software distributions:
AMD64 is the 64 bit build for both AMD and Intel. Probably referred to
as AMD64 because AMD had a compatible 64 bit processor while Intel was
still fooling around with Merced for its 64 bit stuff.
X86 is the 32 bit build for both AMD and Intel.
