Your choice of filename is unfortunate ;)

> import serial
The file is importing itself here. Rename your
C:\Users\Jahree\serial.py
to something unique, say
C:\Users\Jahree\myserial.py
delete
C:\Users\Jahree\serial.pyc
and everything should be OK.
