How ironic. Julia *already uses* a type system much like the proposed Python

and Ruby has an experimental one:

Javascript has one available too:

So does Groovy:,+Static+vs+Dynamic

And Erlang, Clojure, Racket and many more. Python is falling behind, not
racing ahead.
