Did https://pypi.python.org/pypi/ became huge and slow?

I just tried, and <https://pypi.python.org/> redirects to
<https://pypi.python.org/pypi>. And you're right, the link the OP was
asking about is the whole index of packages:
<https://pypi.python.org/pypi/>.
Does it make sense that <https://pypi.python.org/pypi> and
<https://pypi.python.org/pypi/> are completely different pages? The
only difference in URLs being the slash at the end.
