Interesting that this gets mentioned in a thread on bigotry. You could
quite reasonably argue that supporting only ASCII (or one specific
ISO-8859 encoding) is racist, as it makes your system friendly towards
people like yourself (who speak only your language), but unfriendly
towards people of other cultures, particularly Asian ones.
