I use Mozilla Thunderbird as a newsreader. I am subscribed to
'comp.lang.python' through the free NNTP server 'news.aioe.org'. My spam
filter for python only has 6 address!

In my case I am subscribed (with Thunderbird) to more than 30 newsgroups
(in 3 news servers). I have to say that spam is not a problem.
