Dave,

Your large patch to python-mode.el made its way to the python-mode project
on SF:

    http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=875596&group_id=86916&atid=581351

As it stands, I can't really do anything with the patch. First, it doesn't
apply cleanly to the current source code and it's not clear what version of
python-mode.el your patch was made against (the diff file says 1.1, and if
true that would be an exceedingly old version - we're at 4.50 at the
moment). Second, because it requires the resulting code to be GPL, it can't
be accepted as-is. The primary distribution channel for python-mode.el is
still the Python distribution. Guido won't let the code in if it has a GPL
license.

Is it possible for you to redo your patch in two pieces, GPL and non-GPL,
and submit a context diff or unified diff against the latest version in CVS?

Thanks,
