I made it against the CVS version from shortly before I sent it, as I
thought I explained.  The diff presumably contains the date I made it.
It's likely I dragged it into an RCS-controlled copy, which would
account for a 1.1.

Perhaps you misunderstand.  I noticed the file contained bits of GPLed
code before I started.  I recall adding a note to that effect.  It may
be that I added more -- I don't remember.  I don't mind contributing
fixes under a GPL-compatible licence, but you can't re-licence GPLed
code without permission.

I'll try to figure out what the relevant code was so you can remove
it.

I don't have a lot of time to spend on this, and I've written a
completely new mode anyway.
