[python-uk] internship suggestions for a gap-year maths student?

Hi all,

My cousing Maddy is thinking of doing a gap year before she goes off to do
Maths at uni.  I was wondering if anyone had any interesting suggestions
for things to do on her year off?  Internships, short and long, paid and
unpaid?  Maths-related and STEM, but random left-field suggestions also
much appreciated?
