[python-win32] Help with Registry

I am currently working on a project that checks MS Word and MS Excel default
paths (Open/Save folder) for MS Office 97 (in the registry). I have been able
to check Excel's reg entry and change the value if it is not set to the value I
want it to be, but Word's reg entry is peculiar. Word will either have a
DOC-PATH value entry if the user has changed the path within Word, or there
will not be an entry for 'DOC-PATH' and Word defaults to the path that was
specified during installation. I need to know if there is a way to create a new
reg value, not change the (Default). The only thing as far as adding a reg
value deals with, if a certain value for win32api.RegSet doesn't exist it adds
the data to the (default) value. I need to create a 'DOC-PATH' value within the
key if it does not exist. I would very much appreciate any assistance with this
matter.
