If there is someone who still curious :)
I have installed ActiveState's binaries from ActivePython-2.2.2-224-win32-ix86.msi.
And now my program works fine. It was likely some binary incompatibilities in the code. Previous installation was: win32all.exe installed after Python-2.2.2.exe.
