[PYTHONMAC-SIG] stdwin gone?

I haven't had a chance to download 1.4 yet, but I recommended it
(MacPython) to someone interested in speech synthesis.  I told him about
the Holy Grail demo, and he was quite excited -- but it apparently no
longer works, because it requires stdwin, which is no longer included (?).

Is this true?  If so, it really ought to be fixed, by either putting
stdwin back in the distribution, or changing the demo so that it doesn't
need it.
