The Alpha text editor for the Mac has a 'diff' capability.

 6.5 has 'compare files', 'compare windows' & 'compare directories'. 
 ( 'windows' gives a nice side by side view with the difs window at bottom)

 7.0 removes this menu but has GnuDiff in the tools folder. 
    ( I haven't figured out how to use this yet, and I'm going to 
      SLOWLY convert over to 7.0 as I figure out all of the changes.)
