[Pythonmac-SIG] Generating QuickTime from MacPython?

Has anyone CREATED a QuickTime movie from MacPython?  The docs are 
sparse (understatement :-) on the Qt module, so I'm not sure that 
it's possible or how.  I tried my hand at building a QuickTime movie 
using a WYSIWYG editor, and I found myself desperate for a 
programming language for the task.  Simple things (like "show this 
JPEG still image for a duration of 4 seconds") are such a pain to do 
in Avid's tools.
