..and darling, there is a plug-in for Alpha because I've tried it...you'll
have to search for it, but I prefer MacPython.

...with regards to pretty printing, if you mean in the output window, try...

import pprint
pprint.pprint(dir(pprint))

...if you have a PC, give pythonWin or (I like this one) Komodo a whirl...

It's true that MacPython sometimes has a bad hair day, but then again,
what's the alternative? Perl in BBEdit? ugh?!
