[Pythonmac-SIG] What does CFStringGetSystemEncoding() return?

Folks,
I need to know what CFStringGetSystemEncoding() returns on non-roman systems.

if someone with a non-MacRoman Carbon-capable system could please run the 
following code for me:
>>> import Carbon.CF
>>> enc = Carbon.CF.CFStringGetSystemEncoding()
>>> print "Encoding", enc
>>> name = Carbon.CF.CFStringGetNameOfEncoding()
>>> print "Name", name.CFStringGetString()

I'm interested in the output on both OS X and OS 9, by the way, but OSX is the 
most interesting. Oh yes, please supply system version/language info with your 
answer:-)
