I tried PyOpenGL also and ran into line ending problems as well. I 
have not gotten back to it yet.

There is a SWIG for the Mac. Unfortunately the interface was a simple 
Tcl dialog and probably does not lend itself to AppleEvents or any 
other easy way to script making the SWIG wrappers
