[Pythonmac-SIG] That darned SIOUX console and OS/X (embedded Carbon Python)

This SIOUX console is giving me much grief on OS/X - I can't disable it 
(because PythonPrefs doesn't work), and it is preventing my host app from 
quitting (the SIOUX menu takes over the app Quit, and using it doesn't 
actually Quit the app).

Does anyone have a work-around for this? To prevent the console from 
appearing in OS9 I have disabled it in PythonPrefs, but that doesn't work 
in OS/X.

Note - this is NOT the native OS/X Python - this is MacPython 2.2.
