[Pythonmac-SIG] Tkinter - the saga continues

Folks,
some people out on the MacTcl list provided some help, and I can get
the resource-based scheme to work for Tkinter with some effort,
apparently. But another problem is that the Tcl/Tk in this Tkinter
will then not have access to the various character encodings, only
utf8 and latin-1 will be available (MacRoman is most notably absent).

My question now is, what would people prefer:
- A Tkinter that is fully functional, but requires you to download a
separate Tcl/Tk distribution, or
- A Tkinter that works out of the box, but may not be fully
functional.

Please let me know soon, as the two development paths diverge
quickly.
