[Pythonmac-SIG] Mac and Unix newlines

Speaking of Mac and Unix file separators, what about newlines?

Unix python seems not to mind DOS newlines, but certainly spews on Mac 
ones.

I'm having a fiddle with the source now to try and write a little fix 
for this, but does anyone know if this would break anything?
