If you're building Python from CVS look at the Makefile in
Mac/OSX. It will install a pythonw shell script in
/usr/local/bin that does exactly what you want. It does require
that you build Python as a framework, though. And I don't think
this functionality is in 2.2.1 (but I'm not 100% sure).
