You'll probably hear this from more than one source, but check out 
PythonCard, a cross-platform GUI-based GUI construction kit loosely 
modeled on HyperCard but on steroids in Python. It runs on OS X 
(though with a few issues to be resolved yet in details)  as well as 
Win and *nix. http://pythoncard.sourceforge.net.
