Do you really mean "2.2", not "2.2.1" or "2.2.2" (which has 
become available earlier today, but isn't advertised yet)?

Anyway, the message usually means that you don't have 
administrator rights to the machine. Your MacPython will operate 
normally, with one exception: applets will only work as long as 
they are stored in the main Python folder.
