Can we go ahead and include something like pyrepl 
(http://starship.python.net/crew/mwh/hacks/pyrepl.html) instead?  Or 
hack in libedit support instead (non-mac python could benefit from this 
as well)?

I know we talked about this briefly on the list last year, but I don't 
think anyone really said or did anything about it.
