You don't have to, but you would help me if you did (because it'll be

like the experience new users have). If, after testing, you want to go 
back
to your own installation you can simply remove 
/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework
and /Applications/MacPython-2.3 and redo your "make frameworkinstall".
