Check your error logs (logs/event.log I think is the default) - zopectl  
tried to start Zope, but something stopped it from completing its  
startup. Permission errors, files that should exist but don't, a broken  
Product, syntax error in the config file - there are many things that  
could cause this, but you need to check the logs since zopectl won't  
tell you.

I havn't tested myself with MacPython 2.3.3, since I'm waiting for a  
blessed
Panther RC. Zope 2.7.0 beta runs just fine for most tasks with the  
Python that
ships with OS X - you are unlikely to trigger the bugs so it is good  
enough
for development work.
