First, you already have Python on your computer.  Apple put it there in 
OS X (open a Terminal and type python, return and you're in.  Try it 
out).  But you probably want to put in a later version.  However, DO NOT 
REMOVE THE APPLE VERSION.  It will not be replaced.  Another, newer 
python will be added in another folder.  Check out these sites for more 
information (Do read the FAQ so you know how to really set things up):  
http://pythonmac.org/packages/ (go to Universal Packages),  
http://pythonmac.org/wiki/FAQ (take time to read it over and follow some 
other links to get the idea of how to set up and run Python on your Mac 
-- there are several approaches and many are free).
