true enough.. on these 2 in particular.. but one way i get docs to 
launch in various apps is to use open -a in the terminal.. Especially 
on media files & text files that get opened & worked on in a dozen or 
so apps.

yeah, and every so often it actually works for me if i get lucky and 
the names are very distinct.
without it i would die.. but if you have 5 things  that start with the 
word Python in the same directory
even tab completion is gonna make you batty.

The world isn't gonna end but i am still 100% -0 on this proposal...
