[Pythonmac-SIG] runnig code step by step

I have that piece of code:

while 1:
     a=raw_input("Press a key to continue")


I'd like to change the last line, I don't want to control a key press  
if not I want to control a button of the form


My question is if somthing exists to control the push button event.
