Well...I do not normally recommend messing with stuff in System but if 
you are willing to risk it then you can try Keven Walzer's _tkinter.so. 
I put a copy up here (with his kind permission):

along with brief installation instructions that assume you are using a 
user-installed Python, so you'll have to adapt them accordingly.

A more cautious approach would be to install a new copy of Python (it'll 
go into /Library/Frameworks) and modify that.
