I'm not very interested in Carbon and have therefore not paid a lot
of attention to this, but anyone that has a pressing need for 64-bit
Carbon should at least file bugreport at Apple and preferably one
that includes a bussiness case.

32-bit programs run just fine on an 64-bit system, unlike a certain
OS from the northern part of the US (AFAIK). Photoshop should be a
program that can make use of the additional memory space that you're
getting in a 64-bit build.
