It looks like the version number didn't get bumped.  Check the __file__ 
attribute of the module:

$ /usr/bin/python2.6
Python 2.6.1 (r261:67515, Jul  7 2009, 23:51:51) 
[GCC 4.2.1 (Apple Inc. build 5646)] on darwin
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import py2app
>>> py2app.__file__
'/Library/Python/2.6/site-packages/py2app-0.4.3-py2.6.egg/py2app/__init__
.pyc'
>>> py2app.__version__
'0.4.2'

If it was loaded from 0.4.3 egg, you should be OK.
