[offtopic] how to get PyQT running for EPD?

Sorry, for the offtopic question, but I am so interested in your fancy 
viewer and still haven't seen it yet, because I don't have a running pyqt.

I got pyqt compiled with MacPorts on my Mac but am unsure how or if it 
would be working together with my EPD?
Alternatively, can I force the MacPort compilation to use the EPD directly?
