[scikit-image] Fitting figures with missing parts

Dear Jean, Viji and Kevin,
thank you very much for your proposed solutions! Kevin's solution looks
nice, although Jean's one is very good too.
I'll try to apply them on my problem this week. After that I return to
contact you with the results.
