Just a reminder that code without a license statement is 
generally not useful.  (Your statement 'caveat emptor' while 
well intended adds to the ambiguity.)

Please clarify the license of posted code:
BSD or MIT preferred on this list.

PS Since this comes up some often, I wonder if there is not 
some way to implement a list policy: posted code is 
available under the BSD license unless otherwise specified.
I have seen similar things on other lists.
