[Scipy-organizers] New landing page for conference.scipy.org

Hello all,

Not sure if everyone is following along, but there's an effort to have
a better landing page at conference.scipy.org.  (See
https://github.com/scipy-conference/conf_2014/issues/4)

I would appreciate any feedback on the idea of having a blog for all
the different scipy org communities.

Once I get some feedback I'll move it over.
