[SciPy-user] Numerical minimization

Dear experts,

Meanwhile I have made some progress with respect to my latest inquiry.
Please find attached a short example, which is taken from a journal paper.
Different optimization procedures yield different results.
Some of them are impossible from a phydical point of view:
The damping parameters should be positive
d_i>0 for all i. How can I enforce this constraint ?

How do I find a global minimum ?

Any pointer would be appreciated.
