Robert Kern told me there was a checkin in matplotlib's svn (rev 2478) 
which addresses the problem you are seeing. We'll be releasing a new 
build of Enthon with the necessary matplotlib revision next week, but if 
you can't wait, you can build matplotlib from its svn repository.
