Ok, there seems to be enough interest.

I'll do as Travis says: I'll use Chucks module without modifications
as a seperate module and use that as the data source for my module. I
will only use the most common ones plus some extras that are not found
there (inch, psi, standard atmosphere, ...).

I will try to finish something in a few days.
