I am not sure how best to specify this.
Guide me if I leave out relevant detail.

The machine that crashes is a "Pentium III",
x86 Family 6 Model 7 Stepping 3.
The OS is Win 2000 service pack 4,
with all updates (I believe).

The machine that does not crash is a "Pentium 4",
specifically a
Mobile Intel Pentium 4 - M CPU at 2.00 GHz
X86 Family 15 Model 2 0
which seems to be this one:
http://www.intel.com/products/processor/mobilepentium4/index.htm
The OS is Win XP service pack 2 with all updates.

Sorry, but I do not know how to determine the processor
number.

This conforms with Matthew's speculation that the binary
is expecting SSE2 instructions...

Cheers,
Alan Isaac
