Category: Outlook Group: 1.1.x Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: 2012 (twentytwelve) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: 1.1a2-1.1a3: nonstandard characters in db path cause error Initial Comment: Windows XP Pro SP2. Outlook 2003 SP2. Clean install of SB Outlook plugin. 1.0.4 works well. Both 1.1a2 and 1.1a3 seem to have this problem. (1.0.4 and earlier versions have also been used earlier on this sytem with no problems for years.) Assumption: When the path to the db contains nonstandard characters, the plugin fails to load the database with "Failed to load bayes database" error at Outlook start. Since the path by default includes the Windows profile name, example "C:\Documents and Settings\Kristoffer Bj?rkman\Application Data\SpamBayes\[etc]", this should be a very common problem for users in many countries. I can't find a workaround for this with the Outlook plugin version of SB. If there's no way to set the db path to somewhere outside of the Windows profile directory, this behaviour makes the application unusable. See log (from v1.1a2) included below, also see what seems a similar issue reported (with log) earlier at . ----- ERROR: 'There was an error initializing the Spam plugin.\r\n\r\nSpam filtering has been disabled. Category: pop3proxy Group: 1.0.4 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Daniel (drw4297) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: System Tray Icon thinks service is not running Initial Comment: I'm running Windows XP Professional with multiple Windows users and Fast User Switching enabled. I installed SpamBayes as a Windows service, and configured it to start automatically, and to run as the Local System account. User1 logs into Windows, and the SpamBayes icon in the system tray indicates that the SpamBayes service is running. Using Fast User Switching, User2 logs into Windows (leaving User1 logged in also). User2 sees an icon in the system tray indicating that the SpamBayes service is NOT running. Looking at the list of services in the Microsoft Management Console confirms that the service is, in fact, running. Any attempt to open SpamBayes from the system tray icon results in the error message "SpamBayes is not running." User2 can right-click on the icon and select "Start SpamBayes", and the icon will change to the envelope with the green arrow, but as soon as User2 points to the icon to use it again, it instantly switches back to the envelope with the red square. Both users must log off, and User2 must log in again, before User2 can use SpamBayes. User2 should be able to use SpamBayes even if User1 is also logged in. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=498103&aid=1556801&group_id=61702 From noreply at sourceforge.net Fri Sep 22 11:37:46 2006 From: noreply at sourceforge.net (SourceForge.net) Date: Fri, 22 Sep 2006 02:37:46 -0700 Subject: [spambayes-bugs] [ spambayes-Bugs-1409311 ] Spambayes hangs after RETR command Message-ID: Bugs item #1409311, was opened at 2006-01-18 20:10 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by th3r1ddl3r You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=498103&aid=1409311&group_id=61702 Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Fred de Gast (freddegast) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Spambayes hangs after RETR command Initial Comment: I am using SpamBayes v1.0.4 on a Windows XP Home SP2 system, together with Eudora 6.2.3.4. So I use the pop3proxy version of SpamBayes (binary, no Python installed). After some months of working without any problems, Eudora hangs while retrieving messages. The progress bar appears and the last message shown is e.g. "1 message(s) left to download". I used a packet analyzer to see what happens on my network and saw the normal questions and answers (USER, PASS, LIST and RETR). The remote mailserver answers the RETR request correctly by sending the message. But when I do this manually (with a "telnet 127.0.0.1 110" command), there is no answer after the RETR command. It simply hangs. I therefore am convinced that nor Eudora, nor the remote mailserver is the cause of this problem. How can I solve this behaviour of SpamBayes? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Enigma Solver (th3r1ddl3r) Date: 2006-09-22 11:37 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=954123 I am experiencing the same problem with 1.1a3, ssl enabled on xp sp2. It's in your temp directory (possibly C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Temp). If you set the option [globals] verbose to True (put the lines: [globals] verbose:True in your bayescustomize.ini file), then you'll also end up with a _pop3proxy.log file that contains a complete copy of the POP3 transactions. That might yield further clues (if you post it here, be sure to edit out the username and password first). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=498103&aid=1409311&group_id=61702 From noreply at sourceforge.net Fri Sep 22 15:30:06 2006 From: noreply at sourceforge.net (SourceForge.net) Date: Fri, 22 Sep 2006 06:30:06 -0700 Subject: [spambayes-bugs] [ spambayes-Support Requests-1563498 ] Problem with "Big attachment" messages - proxy mode.
