I start the manual filter on 1 folder (personal folder) and wait. No
movement of progressbar, and the system is calm (no CPU used) during
minutes. I try to press Stop, but it gives no reaction. The X in the upper
right corner of the window, only gives me a system-bell sound. The only way
I manage to get out is by killing outlook.exe.

Do you want me to perform any further tests?
