[Spambayes] Beginners question

Hi,
 
I am using the binary distribution of the SpamBayes Outlook Plugin on
Windows XP with Outlook 2002, SP2. Everything appears to work OK, but I
have noticed the following behaviour.
 
When new mail arrives in my inbox, if I read it immediately the message
appears to be unread until I read it a second time. If I wait for a few
minutes and then read the message, it immediately changes to a read
message.
 
Everything else appears to work OK.
