The Outlook plugin works great with Hotmail accessed through a POP3
gateway.  I use Hotmail Popper to provide POP3 access to Hotmail, and
then set it up as a normal POP3 account in Outlook.  Unfortunately, the
latest version of Hotmail Popper is no longer freeware.
