[Spambayes] sorry for troubling

It's always nice to hear from satisifed users. Thanks!

The SpamBayes filter works by analyzing the content of the messages to
determine what is spam and what is not. If you do not download the entire
message, then there is no content for it to analyze. If you want to
completely avoid downloading the spam then I'm afraid your only options are
probably to switch to a less effective filter that looks only at the message
headers, or convince your ISP to install a better spam filter so that there
are fewer spam messages that have to be downloaded and analyzed by
SpamBayes.

Also, I would recommend against turning off SpamBayes caching entirely. It
may be working fine now, but spam is constantly mutating and you may find in
a few months that it isn't working as well. Or you might start
communicating with a new friend or place an order with an online business
that you haven't dealt with before, so it's always a good idea to have the
option for additional training. If you set your cache to expire in 2 or 3
days, it really won't take up much hard drive space and will allow you to do
additional training on any mistakes that SpamBayes makes.

First of all thanks for developing SpamBayes - works great, vitually without
fauls.

Still it is only a filter - any action like deleting spam must be undertaken
by a mail program. And here is my question: when I was playing with
different rule settings of Outlook Express it was hard to filter spam, but
it acted all right - after selecting "remove news from server" or "do not
download" mailer was receiving only those messages that fitted the rules.

After installing SpamBayes these options don't work anymore - mailer can
automatically delete spam, but first it has to receive all there is on the
server. Of course it doesn't count in minutes, yet it is somewhat irritating
to see that spam still flows free, making up for the traffic, so that
instead just 10 ham messages I have to download all 250 of spam emails.

Is there any way of dealing with it?

I have trained 21 ham and 95 spam (and turned off caching, as it works all
right:).
