THIS time when I set up the AVG POP3 server/proxy it defaulted to 5200
instead of 5110 which it seemed to be insisting on last time I tried ??
dunno, but I left it at 5200, then configured Spambayes to use
'127.0.0.1:5200', saved the change and then tried the 'Get' mail button
in Netscape. IT WORKED! I got a load of mail from 'From: AVG for Email
<avgmail at localhost>', all saying my tests from my earlier attempts had
failed. And my first test message came in with both the

and the

messages. (and of course the Spambayes headers).

My setup now is
  mailserver:110 --> 110(AVG)127.0.0.1:5200  -->
127.0.0.1:5200(Spambayes)localhost:110 -->  localhost:110(Netscape)
  smtp:25        <-- 25(AVG)127.0.0.1:25
<--------------------------------------------------
127.0.01:25(Netscape)

Yes. I think I probably did have two instances running. The tray icon
defaults to using netscape navigator and as per an earlier email, the
localhost:8880 is U-G-L-Y in Netscape. So I created an startbar
shortcut for Firefox that starts on the localhost:8880 page, and I
normally click on that and on my Netscape Messenger icon when I get
email.
