A port on a computer is like a door on a house. Different services listen
at different ports for connections (much as our grandparents might have
expected the mailman to come to the front door and the rag man to come to
the back door). In the case of mail fetched using POP3, the port is
generally 110. Configure Spambayes to connect to your real mail server on
port 110. On the configuration page <http://localhost:8880/config> enter
your mail server's name in the "Remote Servers" slot and enter 110 in the
"SpamBayes Ports" slot. In turn, configure IncrediMail to connect to your
computer ("localhost") on port 110. You can probably just replace your real
mail server's name with "localhost".

That's to be expected. There is tight integration between Outlook and the
Outlook plugin. Outlook also takes care of all external connections, so you
don't have to configure that aspect of things. It's impossible to get that
tight an integration with a general-purpose POP3 proxy and an arbitrary mail
program.
