[Spambayes] Filtering problems when starting Outlook 2000

I was using the 0.8 version of SpamBayes without having any problems at all. I just upgraded to the new 1.0a9 binary distribution this week. Ever since doing so I have had a few recurring problems. I have gone through the troubleshooting section but did not find anything to help.

When I first bring up Outlook in the morning, nothing gets filtered at all. It sounds like this might be related to bug number 904526. There are messages in the log file saying "Skipping folder for this session - temporarily unavailable". While this is going on, it appears that Outlook is frozen but that is not the case. It takes several minutes before the application becomes responsive and I can navigate in Outlook.

Once I can move around, I must click on the SpamBayes pulldown menu button and select "Filter messages". I also need to constantly check the radio button for the filter action on this screen. It keeps changing from Perform all filter actions to Score messages, but don't perform filter action. Once I have done the filtering, I then find I need to run the training routine for SpamBayes to automatically start filtering new incoming messages. At this point SpamBayes will filter properly for the rest of the current Outlook session. If I exit Outlook and get back in later, the process starts all over again.

Another problem I have encountered is the database for recognizing the difference between good messages and spam keeps getting reset. I have checked that the Rebuild entire database option is not checked, but it seems to happen anyway.

The 0.8 version I was using was very stable. It initialize quickly, filtered all the messages, including when first logging into Outlook and never lost or reset the training database information unless I specifically asked for it to do so. From my point of view, the new version seems to be a major step backwards.

Attached is a copy of the current log file.
