[Spambayes] Question re: function & use of Spambayes

I am using SpamBayes POP3 Proxy Version 1.0.4 (March 2006) with Eudora
v5.2.  My OS is Win2k SP4. I have trained 1527 ham and 620 spam.

The problem I am having is that I guess I really do not understand how
Spambayes is supposed to work.  I have Eudora set to look to
"localhost" for mail and all of my incomming mail shows up in
spambayes....OK, now what??  I click on the spam and ham and then
train and the messages disappeare from spambayes but are still in
Eudora.  I thought (this is probably the problem, my thinking) that
spambayes was supposed to keep the mail from getting to Eudora once it
knew spam from ham.  Any help would be appreciated.  I get 500 to
1,000 spams a day now!
